The Israel Seminar on Computational Linguistics

Registration opens soon

Location: The Mexico Hall, Mount Scopus campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Date: 23.12.2026

Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computational Linguistics are active research and development fields in Israel today, both in academia and industry. ISCOL is a venue that was established in 1995 and has been held continuously every year (almost). It serves as a venue for exchanging ideas, reporting on work in progress and established results, forming collaborations, and advancing connections between academia and industry. ISCOL is also a friendly stage for students making their first appearance in this community.

Registration: Registration details coming soon.

Call for Papers

  • Submission deadline: November 21, 2026, 11:59:00 PM Israel time
  • Notification: November 29, 2026
  • Submission site: OpenReview

The 2026 Israeli Seminar on Computational Linguistics (ISCOL 2026) invites presentations of recent work in all areas of natural language processing, computational linguistics and closely related fields. We accept work underway, provided that it represents recent and original work of interest to our audience, as well as work that has been submitted or published at other venues. Submitted papers do not need to be anonymous.

Submission format: Please submit your work as a PDF file. Use the *ACL format for extended abstracts, or the format required by the conference/journal for full papers.

We accept two types of submissions:

  1. Extended abstracts (up to 2 pages, not including references).
  2. Full papers that were submitted to other related venues. Please indicate at the end of the abstract field in the submission form whether the paper was accepted (and in this case, to which venue), or is currently under review.

Call for Collaborations New this year!

Have an idea that needs more than your own lab? Looking for data, domain experts, annotators, compute, or a team with the specific skills you lack? The Call for Collaborations track is exactly for that.

Submit a one-page pitch that covers your idea, a rough plan, and the partners you are looking for. Any stage is fine, from an early idea to a running project. Accepted pitches will have a dedicated space in one of the poster sessions, so that people with matching interests can find each other. Depending on response, we may also give selected pitches a short oral slot on stage.

  • Format: 1 page, A4, PDF, using the template (Overleaf or Google Docs).
  • Deadline: November 21, 2026, 11:59:00 PM Israel time
  • Notification: November 29, 2026
  • Submit via: same as the main track (submission type “Collaboration pitch”)

Program

As usual, ISCOL 2026 will feature poster sessions and oral presentations showcasing research from across the Israeli NLP community. We are also excited to host a keynote by Prof. Noah A. Smith, and to introduce a new Call for Collaborations track.

The full program will be announced closer to the event. Check back for updates.
